Referral Process and Therapy Sessions.
Referral pathway
Ensuring my approach fits with the needs of your child is important.
In my private practice, I offer a 30-minute free introductory meeting with parents or carers. This gives the opportunity to consider if therapy is right for your young person.
A formal referral meeting is held which gives you the opportunity to give signed permission and offer background information on your child and wider family. Assessment tools are used to give a snapshot of social, emotional and behavioural need. Hoped for outcomes are also discussed. This is a charged session.
When offering sessions to a young person over 13 years they can be included in the referral process and this is encouraged.
In schools, I offer referral meetings with class teachers or School Sendcos and meet with parents as signed parental permission is a requirement for all those under 13 years of age.

Therapy Sessions
All sessions whether in schools or private practice are held in a confidential and non-judgemental space where children and young people are made to feel welcome and accepted.
Depending on age, sessions are held weekly and are between 45- and 50-minutes. Session by session feedback is not offered due to the confidential nature of the sessions, however parents and carers are offered a review session at six weeks and then at regular intervals.
The review sessions are charged as per the Ts and Cs
